These silver Sugar Skull necklaces are in homage to the holiday originating in Mexico, the Day of the Dead. Known as Dia de Muertos in Spanish, Day of the Dead is celebrated throughout the world in memory of those people who have passed on. Family and friends gather to remember and pray for loved ones on Oct. 31, Nov. 1 and Nov.2.
These are Sugar Skull charms, based on the traditional offerings used on altars to honor the dead, along with Marigolds and items belonging to the deceased. Sugar
skulls are treats made from sugar that are decorated and that can be eaten.
