How to clean tarnish from your matte finish silver Luxe Design jewellery.

The majority of our jewellery comes with a soft, matte finish, as opposed to a shiny, high polish finish. This is also known as a matte finish. We use this type of finish on our hand stamped jewellery to help make the small lettering and fine detail stand out. Once the jewellery is personalized by hand stamping, we oxidize it then matte finish it.

Our silver jewellery is pure 925 sterling silver jewellery. That means that under certain circumstances, it can tarnish. Tarnish is a reaction between the copper content of sterling silver and oxygen and moisture. It is annoying but can be easily removed. Because we have a particular type of finish, traditional cleaning dips are less effective than a professional cleaning pad or good old super fine steel wool. Check out our video to see these in action:

We sell these items in our cleaning kit here.
